Four wheeler-tractor collided at Kharibari, one dead, five injured

Kharibari, 18th May: In a tragic incident, a head-on collision between a four-wheeler and tractor took place this morning on Asian Highway 2 at Prasadu Jote, Kharibari. The incident left five persons injured, while an occupant of the four-wheeler died on the spot. The deceased has been identified as Ganga Prasad Saru, an Indian Army personnel.


According to locals, this morning, one wheel of the four-wheeler suddenly opened loose, due to which the vehicle lost control and collided with the tractor. One person died on the spot, while, five others were critically injured, including the driver of the tractor. Reportedly, the injured are residents of Nepal and Arunachal Pradesh state.

Subsequently, the locals rescued the injured and sent them to Naxalbari Hospital, who were later referred to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. Meanwhile, as soon as the news of the incident was received, Kharibari police reached the spot and initiated an investigation into the incident after recovering the deceased.
