Fulbari, 10th July: Several people were injured after four vehicles were involved in a chain collision on the national highway at Chunavati in Fulbari on Thursday night.
According to sources, a private Volvo bus travelling from Siliguri to Guwahati rammed into a small goods vehicle after reaching the Chunavati area. The impact pushed the goods vehicle into another vehicle ahead, triggering a chain collision involving a total of four vehicles.
On receiving the information, police from the Fulbari Highway Traffic Outpost and New Jalpaiguri Police Station rushed to the spot. The injured were rescued and admitted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The accident disrupted traffic on the national highway for some time. Police later cleared the damaged vehicles from the road and restored normal traffic movement.
