Four arrested for killing a person with iron road over old dispute

Siliguri, 29th May: The Bhaktinagar Police arrested four people for killing a man with an iron rod over an old dispute. The four accused individuals namely Kalyan Roy, Rashit Roy, Yogesh Roy, and Deepak Roy have been arrested in the incident.


It has been learned that a driver named Amit Lepcha was returning home after finishing his work late on Friday night. At that time, he had a dispute with a youth near Upper Bhanunagar. Following this, the four aforementioned individuals attacked Amit with an iron rod, severely injuring him on the spot.

Meanwhile, Bhaktinagar police reached the spot after receiving the news. Police rescued Amit Lepcha and rushed him to Siliguri district hospital. However, due to his deteriorating condition, he was shifted to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. He succumbed to his injuries this morning while undergoing treatment.


Incidentally, during Holi, a conflict arose between the 4 accused and deceased Amit Lepcha. Police suspect that this incident has occurred due to the old dispute. The Bhaktinagar police produced the four in court. Police have started an investigation into the whole incident.
