Former CPI(M) leader Shankar Ghosh joins BJP

Siliguri,12th March: During a press conference at a hotel in Mallaguri today, former CPI(M) leader Shankar Ghosh, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the presence of the party’s national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya, Darjeeling MP Raju Bista, and Siliguri Organisational District President Praveen Agarwal.


It is to be noted that Shankar Ghosh recently quitted CPI(M) and resigned from the BoA at Siliguri Municipal Corporation.

Reportedly, last night, Darjeeling MP Raju Bista went to meet Ghosh’s ailing mother at a nursing home in Matigara. As the pictures spread like wildfire on social media, speculations surfaced that Ghosh might join BJP before the much-anticipated assembly polls in Bengal. Putting an end to the rumours, Ghosh shook hands with the saffron party in Siliguri today.
