Five-year-old returning from school killed by speeding truck in Siliguri

Siliguri, 18th October: Series of accidents in the city have been taking place. Bad roads, faulty drivers, and speeding vehicles are one or the other reasons claiming lives on the road. Today at Siliguri’s Medical More another case of a horrifying accident claimed a life of a five-year-old girl. The family of the little child has been devasted by the accident. 


According to locals, five-year-old Anupriya was returning home from school with her father Anoop Kumar on a bike this afternoon, when a truck rammed into their bike near Medical More. Due to this, the said little girl was seriously injured. She was rushed to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead. However, seeing the opportunity, the truck driver fled with the vehicle. 


On the other hand, Traffic ADCP Purnima Sherpa reached the spot as soon as the news of the incident was received. She said the incident would be probed by scanning the CCTV footage of the area.

    We can’t just blame the bad roads, driver etc. Upto the information I have got to know that they went for having biryani while returning from school
