Kharibari, 28th October: Jawans of E Company Kurlikot of the 19th Battalion of SSB, located on the Indo-Nepal border, rescued cattle illegally being transported in two freight trucks for smuggling. Five persons have been arrested in connection to the incident.
According to the 19th battalion of SSB, the jawans launched an operation in the area based on a tip-off and successfully busted the racket.
During the campaign, 26 animals were rescued from the said vehicles and five persons were arrested. After cross-examination, the accused persons, the vehicles and cattle were handed over to the nearest police station.
