Siliguri, 19th March: The Bagdogra police seized five cattle and arrested one by running a campaign for smuggling the said cattle in a pickup van.
The accused has been identified as Rajesh Ghosh, also the pickup van driver and a resident of Dayaram Jote of Naxalbari. According to police sources, on receiving a tip-off about the smuggling of cattle in an unnumbered pick-up van in the Bihar More area of Bagdogra, the police reached the spot and seized the pick-up van.
During the search, five cattle were recovered from the vehicle. Rajesh Ghosh was arrested for not being able to show any valid documents of the seized cattle. The accused has been produced in the Siliguri Divisional Court today. The police are probing the entire incident.
