Siliguri, 23rd October: Hours before the celebration of Diwali begins, an incident of fire broke out in a plastic goods shop in Siliguri. The incident of arson has caused panic and stir in the area.
Reportedly, this morning locals saw smoke billowing out of a plastic goods shop in Hawkers Corner, Siliguri. After this, they informed the shop owner and the fire department. Two fire trucks reached the spot and after a lot of effort and succeeded in extinguishing the fire.
On the other hand, Siliguri Police also reached the spot as soon as the information about the incident was received. In this fire incident, most of the items in the shop have been burnt to ashes. The reason has not been clear or detected yet. However, it is believed that the fire may have started due to a short circuit. Police are investigating the entire incident. Meanwhile, Mayor Goutam Deb also reached the spot to take stock of the incident.
