Siliguri, 22nd July: Panic spread after a fire broke out in the electrical room of Siliguri Municipal Corporation on Wednesday.
According to reports, smoke was noticed coming out from the electrical room, following which municipal corporation employees immediately rushed to the spot. They found that a fire had broken out in the building’s main switch box.
The employees took immediate action and started the firefighting process. Due to their prompt response, the fire was brought under control within a short time, preventing any major incident. Fire brigade assistance was not required.
The fire is initially suspected to have been caused by a short circuit, although the exact reason behind the incident is yet to be confirmed.
No casualties have been reported in the incident. There has also been no report of major damage to important documents or infrastructure of Siliguri Municipal Corporation.
