Siliguri, 13th August: A massive fire broke out in a tin warehouse located in Ward No. 42 of the Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC) on Saturday night. The incident caused a situation of panic in the area.
As per reports, the locals spotted smoke coming out of the godown in the Sarva Pally area of Ward NO. 42. Following this, the matter was immediately informed to the Fire Department. Upon receiving the news, three fire engines arrived at the spot and the situation was controlled after valiant efforts by fire personnel. However, there were no reports of casualties due to the incident.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the fire broke out following a short circuit of the CCTV unit installed inside the warehouse. Currently, the matter is under investigation by the fire department.
