FIR registered in Darjeeling police station against BGPM leader SP Sharma

Darjeeling, 05th July: Today, the youth wing of Hamro Party lodged an FIR against SP Sharma at the Darjeeling Sadar police station, accusing him of disturbing the peace in the hills. This comes after an incident where Sharma, the central spokesperson of Bharatiya Gorkha Prajatantrik Morcha (BGPM) and PRO of GTA, tore the manifesto of the United Gorkha Alliance during a gathering at the Darjeeling Press Guild. Following the incident, alliance parties filed an FIR with the police, condemning and criticizing Sharma’s actions.

Rapge Rai, the Chief Coordinator of Hamro Party’s Youth Wing, stated that SP Sharma’s act of tearing the election manifesto aimed to disrupt the harmony in the hills. Rai urged the police administration to take immediate legal action against Sharma, emphasizing the need to preserve peace. He further expressed that tearing the manifesto of any political party is an insult to the party and its leaders. Since the manifesto of the United Gorkha Alliance features the name and flag of Hamro Party, Rai felt that their party had been disrespected. Consequently, they filed an FIR against Sharma at the police station today.
