Alipurduar, 23rd August: After heavy rains lashed the district, the temporarily constructed access road on the Char Torsa River in Falakata block has been severely damaged. As a result, locals are facing problems in their daily commute. Despite the initiative to repair the diversion, they complained that the pace of work was very slow.
To take a stock of the situation, Falakata MLA Deepak Barman inspected the flood-affected Torsa diversion, on Monday. He said that the people of Alipurduar and Falakata are suffering due to the negligence of the state government and district administration.
