Alipurduar, 08th June: Several families have been affected in an elephant attack at Beltala Biswas Para in Turturi Gram Panchayat area of Alipurduar No. 02 block.
It has been learned that the elephant entered the area at around 3 am and destroyed the betelnut and jackfruit trees in the area. The animal broke the kitchen of a house and devoured the stored paddy. The elephant created a ruckus at various places in the area till this morning. However, the residents later chased the elephant towards the forest.
