Elephant carcass recovered in Hila Tea garden, Nagrakata

Nagrakata, 27th July: The carcass of a wild elephant was recovered from Section-19 of Hila Tea garden under Nagrakata block, on Monday.


According to local sources, a herd of wild elephants, on Sunday night, came out of the Jaldhaka forests and entered the aforementioned tea garden. The following morning, the locals came across an elephant carcass and immediately informed the Khuniya Range Forest Department.

Upon receiving the news, the forest workers reached the spot and recovered the animal’s body.
