Kalchini, 22nd August: The carcass of a wild elephant was found in a paddy field in the Santali Basti area of Kalchini Block. According to reports, on Tuesday morning, the locals spotted the lifeless animal in the aforementioned area.
Promptly, the Forest Department was informed about the matter. Upon receiving the news, the forest department personnel arrived at the spot and recovered the body. Currently, the forest department is engaged in ascertaining the reason behind the death of the tusker.
