Ei Prajanma Siliguri demand use of Bengali language at railway stations including NJP station

Siliguri, 25th July: Voluntary organization Ei Prajanma of Siliguri raised its voice in the demand for the use of Bengali language at other railway stations including the NJP station. A memorandum was also handed over by the organization to the railway officer at NJP station today.

The demand was made for the convenience of Bengali speaking people at railway stations. As per the information, signboards in Bengali language were kept in the station premises before, but later the writings were erased. Due to this, the organization alleged that the Bengali speaking passengers are facing problems.

The organization has been demanding to add the Bengali language in the stations from 2019. On Sunday, the members of the organization once again submitted a memorandum to the Railway Department. The organization’s convener Anirvan Dutta warned to staged a peaceful sit-in protest in the station premises if their demands are not looked into within the next 30 days.
