Durga Visarjan ceremony concluded peacefully in Siliguri

Siliguri, 06th October: Durga Puja immersion ceremony was performed in the entire state along with Siliguri on Wednesday. On completion of 10 days, devotees bid farewell to Maa Durga on Wednesday. 


Along with the entire state, Durga immersion was also performed in Siliguri on Wednesday. At the same time, Durga idols were immersed in various ghats of Siliguri. Of these, most of the idols were immersed at Lalmohan Moulik Niranjan Ghat. By Wednesday night, more than 200 idols were immersed in this ghat.

On the other hand, a large number of police forces were deployed to ensure law and order at the ghat. Siliguri Metropolitan Police’s women’s squad Winners team was also deployed on the spot to ensure women’s safety. On the other hand, Siliguri Police Commissioner Akhilesh Kumar Chaturvedi also inspected the ghat.


The administration claims that the Durga immersion has been completed peacefully except for minor incidents. At the same time, there is a carnival on Friday where different Puja clubs will be a part.
