Siliguri, 16th January: A drunk youth set a truck on fire in the Bholanath Para near Eastern Bypass in Siliguri.
According to local sources, a coal depot had been shut down in the area, in which, a truck had been lying for several months. The locals alleged that the closed coal depot had become a liquor den. A drunk youth named Thakurdas Roy set the truck on fire, yesterday. After the incident, the local people tied Roy with a rope and informed the fire department about the incident. A fire engine reached the spot and extinguished the fire.
The Ashighar Police have detained the accused youth. Meanwhile, the accused stated that the vehicle caught fire while he was smoking.
