DRI arrest one with gold biscuits worth crores

Siliguri, 01st March: A person has been arrested with gold biscuits worth crores. The arrested accused has been identified as Dilip Mane (28), a resident of Maharashtra.


It has been learned that based on a tip-off, DRI launched operations at the NJP station premises on Monday afternoon. The officials raided the Rajdhani Express and searched Dilip Mane. During the search, 4 pieces of gold biscuits were recovered from the handle of his trolley bag. He was arrested as he failed to show any document.

DRI’s lawyer Trideep Saha said that the recovered gold biscuits weigh 1991 grams with a market value of more than Rs 1 crore. The gold biscuits were intended to be transported to Kanpur. The arrested accused was produced at the court today where the police ordered 14 days of police custody.
