DRI arrest one with gold biscuits in Siliguri

Siliguri, 08th July: The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) arrested a man with gold biscuits in Siliguri. The arrested accused has been identified as Ranjit Hanmantrao Yadav, a resident of Sangli, Maharashtra.


According to DRI sources, Ranjit Hanmantrao Yadav reached Burdwan Road in Siliguri on Wednesday evening in a bus holding an Assam number plate. The DRI initially detained him and conducted a search. 6 gold biscuits weighing 996 grams were seized from his possession. Following which, he was arrested. He was presented in Siliguri court today.

In this regard, government lawyer Tridip Saha said that each gold biscuit weighs 166 grams. A total of 6 gold biscuits weighing 996 grams were recovered from the accused.
