DM inspects polling booths in Siliguri before the assembly elections

Siliguri, 09th March: The Darjeeling District Magistrate and the police commissioner inspected various sensitive and large polling stations in Siliguri. The fifth phase of polling will be held on April 17 in the Darjeeling district. Hence, security measures are being monitored thoroughly.


Besides, District Magistrate Shashank Sethi, Police Commissioner D. P. Singh, SDO Priyadarshini S, and other police officials, on Tuesday, visited the polling booths in Sriguru Vidyamandir School at Champasari, Pradhan Nagar, Hindi High School, and Siliguri College to inspect the voting procedure and security arrangements.

DM Shashank Sethi said that different booths are being inspected in the city and the sensitive booths are being identified. Various initiatives are being taken to boost the morale of the people in those booths where fewer votes were cast last time.


On the other hand, the police commissioner said that the central forces are already conducting route marches in the city. Naka checking is also being carried out at various places. More central forces will come in the coming days.
