Siliguri, 02nd June:District Task Force officials held a meeting at Siliguri State Guest HouseSiliguri, 02nd June: The members of the District Task Force held a meeting at the Siliguri State Guest House regarding the current COVID-19 situation. The Darjeeling District District Magistrate S. Ponnamabalam, other administrative officials and the public representatives were present during the meeting where various measures regarding COVID-19 awareness among the people and quarantine centers were held.


After the meeting, the DM stated that a total of 72 educational institutions and government halls have been selected as quarantine centers in the district so far. As per the government directives, all asymptomatic persons who return from Delhi, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Tamil Nadu should stay at the quarantine center for 14 days. People returning from other states also have to stay in the home quarantine for 14 days. Besides, the DM further stated that so far there are about 2500 people are staying in the quarantine centers and about 6303 people in home quarantine.
