Siliguri, 20th July: On the occasion of the first Monday of the holy ‘Shravan’ month, a large number of devotees gathered at various Shiva temples across Siliguri.
Long queues of devotees were seen since morning, especially at Mayer Ichche Mandir and Maa Bhawani Mandir, as people arrived to offer prayers and seek blessings.
Apart from local temples, many devotees also left for Baba Dham, while the famous Jalpesh Temple, one of North Bengal’s prominent pilgrimage sites, witnessed a massive footfall of Shiva devotees.
Carrying holy water in their hands, devotees participated in the religious rituals with great enthusiasm and devotion.
The first Monday of ‘Shravan’ saw temples across Siliguri filled with faith, spiritual fervour and religious celebrations.
