Cooch Behar, 13th March: Sensation prevailed in the area after a decomposed body was recovered from a locked house in the Bhagarir Par area under Ward No. 03 of Tufanganj in Cooch Behar district.
The deceased has been identified as Dulal Das, a fruit trader by profession. Reportedly, Dulal’s wife passed away about three years ago and left behind their three children. As the children are small, they mostly stayed over at their maternal uncle’s house. Their elder son used to help his father in the work. But, for the past few days, he had not visited his father.
When the son came home on Monday morning, he found that the main gate of the house locked. When he entered the house from the second gate, he found his father lying on the bed. Hearing his screams the locals rushed inside the house only to find Dulal’s rotting body. After this, the information was given to Tufanganj police station. As soon as the news was received, the police reached the spot and recovered the body. The police started investigating the entire incident. The locals speculate that Dulal might have been murdered.
