Siliguri, 01st October: Many leaders resigned from Left Front, BJP, Congress and joined Trinamool Congress after the party won the assembly elections in West Bengal.
Recently, many left councillors joined TMC to which the senior leaders and workers in the party expressed their dissatisfaction. Darjeeling district Trinamool president Papia Ghosh, on Friday, said that the party joining programme is being discontinued for the time being.
She said around 10,000 people have applied to join TMC. After talking to the state leaders and block and ward leaders at the local level, it will be decided who should be introduced to the party.
On the other hand, from now on, the president, chairman, and spokesperson will be able to address party-related issues in the media. Others will require permission to talk about party matters.
