Darjeeling District Congress demonstrate in Siliguri condemning disqualification of Rahul Gandhi from Lok Sabha

Siliguri, 25th March: The Darjeeling District Congress staged a protest rally condemning the disqualification of party leader Rahul Gandhi from Lok Sabha. They demanded he is brought back to his MP post at the earliest. 


The said rally was organized, on Saturday, under the leadership of Darjeeling District Congress General Secretary Jeevan Majumdar. It was taken out from the party office at Hashmi Chowk and circumambulated the city’s main roads. Later, an effigy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi was set on fire as a protest at Hashmi Chowk. 

In this regard, General Secretary Jeevan Majumdar stated that the country’s democracy is in danger. He further alleged that the ruling BJP is rejecting the posts of MPs from the opposition. They warned to continue to protest in the coming days if the disqualification of Rahul Gandhi from Lok Sabha is not lifted as soon as possible.
