Cycle March by Punjab Police reaches Siliguri with the message of ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’

Siliguri, 05th December: Two Punjab Police personnel are spreading awareness regarding ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’, ‘Nasha Mukti’ and ‘Save Environment’ through their Cycle March across the country.


As per the information, Punjab Police’s Muktsar Sahib personnel Samandeep Kumar, Gursewak Singh and his two associates Hari Thakur and Hukum Deewana are travelling across the country with the aim to make all aware regarding the said issue and importance of planting trees.

The march which commenced on November 11 from Ahmedabad in Gujarat will conclude by December 11 in Gujarat. The cyclists reached Siliguri after journeying through Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. They will be leaving for Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh. The jawans have set the goal to complete 3,000 kilometres travel in 30 days. They are spreading awareness among the people by cycling 100 kilometres every day.


Punjab Police jawan Gursewak Singh said that the team is headed by Punjab Police IPS officer D Sudhar Willy. During the march, fruits, books and chocolates are also being distributed among children in poor neighbourhoods.
