CPI(M) candidate stopped from filing nomination papers on final day of nomination in Rajganj

Rajganj, 15th June: Tension gripped Rajganj BDO Office following allegations levied on the ruling party for preventing CPI (M) candidates from submitting nomination papers on the last day of the nomination process for the upcoming Panchayat polls in the state. However, Trinamool Congress (TMC) has denied all the allegations.

Reportedly, Reena Das, a local CPI(M) candidate from Subhash Pally in Rajganj’s Sukhani village, was allegedly prevented from filing her nomination by some TMC members. Her nomination papers were seized from her. Subsequently, the CPI(M) Zonal Committee members raised slogans at the police outside the Rajganj BDO office resulting in a brief feeling of tension.

On the other hand, Rajganj MLA Khageswar Roy claimed that the opposition party is implementing misleading propaganda. He further stated that the residents of Jalpaiguri district would vote without any hindrance in the 2023 Panchayat Election.
