CPI (M) launches campaign in support of several demands against Siliguri Mahakuma Parishad

Siliguri, 31st March: CPI (M) launched a campaign against the Siliguri Mahakuma Parishad in support of several demands. Today Darjeeling District CPI (M) took out a huge rally from Mahatma Gandhi More in Siliguri. 


CPI (M) leaders Ashok Bhattacharya, Jibesh Sarkar, Saman Pathak led the rally. Reportedly, the Left Front workers reached the Mahakuma Parishad through the rally. A huge police corps was deployed for the campaign where they protested in front of the Siliguri Mahakuma Parishad.

The CPI (M) alleged that the people of Bengal under Siliguri Mahakuma Parishad were deprived of various government services. Along with this, a memorandum has been submitted to the Mhakuma Parishad in support of 16-point demands, including commencing 100 days work, a ban on land brokers in rural areas, and employment to youths in rural tea gardens.
