Siliguri, 10th July: Amid rising concerns of the third wave of COVID-19 that may hit the nation soon, strict restrictions have been imposed in the state to contain the virus. However, people seem to have thrown caution in the wind and can be seen defying the guidelines.
To check the violation of COVID guidelines set by the state, ACP East Shubhendra Kumar along with a team of undercover police of NJP police station conducted a campaign in the Gatebazar area. During this, 18 people were arrested for roaming in public places without wearing masks.
Reportedly, such campaigns will be run continuously by the police to prevent the spreading of COVID-19 infection.
