COVID-19 situation worsens in Siliguri, Shankar Ghosh puts serious allegations on administration

Siliguri, 05th July: While the number of COVID-19 cases in Siliguri is skyrocketing, Shankar Ghosh, a member of the administrative board at Siliguri Municipal Corporation, has put serious allegation on the role of the administration amid the ongoing pandemic.

Ghosh stated that the most important factor required to fight against the deadly virus as of now is ‘coordination’. However, due to lack of it, the number of coronavirus positive cases is on the rise across the city.

Shankar Ghosh alleged that all including the Minister-in-charge and the state health officials have taken no required steps other than holding formal meetings. He urged the concerned departments to be supportive of each other and fight the war together.

Ghosh further alleged that although the state government has allowed private nursing homes to treat COVID-19 patients from now on, many nursing homes are refusing to tend coronavirus positive patients.

He appealed to the health department to monitor the situation immediately and arrange more test facilities in the city. He added that if the government does not pay attention to these requirements soon, the citizens will severely suffer in the near future.
