COVID-19 second wave: Awareness raised in Ward no-24

Siliguri, 25th April: With the growing number of coronavirus cases, Ward No. 24 Nagarik Brinda committee took to the streets to raise awareness, on Sunday. BJP leader Shankar Ghosh was present during the programme.


Miking was carried out to raise awareness about the importance of masks, as well as the dos and don’ts concerning health protection. The awareness programme was carried out in Fuleshwari Bazaar and different parts of Ward No. 24.

Shankar Ghosh said that many people are wearing masks incorrectly. The use of masks must be accurate during such an alarming situation. Another important thing is physical distance, which is not being followed in most cases. He said that the administration should take strict action against those who do not follow the rules. Many are spotted wandering in the streets after going through COVID-19 tests and he was also doubtful whether correct rules and safety measures are being followed by people at home isolation. He said the administration should take the helm with a stronger hand.
