Siliguri, 08th July: In light of the increasing number of COVID-19 cases across the city, Siliguri Gate Bazar will be shut down from July 11 to July 19 as a containment measure.
The members of the Vyavasayi Samithi stated that since several markets have been shut down in Siliguri, more crowds and gatherings were being spotted in the Siliguri Gate Bazar area. Therefore, such an initiative has been taken to prevent the further spread of the deadly virus. However, medicine and milk shops will remain open.
They further stated that after July 19, the market will resume operations excluding Sundays. The decision will remain effective until August 31.
