Coronavirus Outbreak: Bihar reported its first suspected case of coronavirus case

China’s Wuhan coronavirus outbreak has raised alarm bells across the world. As per the reports, the virus has killed 80 people and infected more than 2,000. Allegedly, the virus has spread to at least 12 other countries, namely, Thailand, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Vietnam, Singapore, Nepal, France, Australia, Malaysia, Canada, and the US.
Symptoms include fever, coughing, and difficulty in breathing, and the viral infection can cause pneumonia.

As Wuhan has a large number of Indians, mostly students studying medicine in different Chinese universities, the Indian Government is also taking quick steps to restrain the outbreak of the infectious virus in the country.

On Monday, Bihar reported its first suspected case of the virus as it isolated a research scholar, who came home from China’s Tianjin last week. Over 100 people have been kept under observation in Kerala and Maharashtra following a possible exposure to coronavirus. Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan on Saturday said samples have been sent to the ICMR-NIV laboratory in Pune.

The World Health Organization (WHO) is scheduled to hold a meeting on Wednesday to consider whether the outbreak is an international public health emergency.
