Constitutional justice should be provided before the upcoming assembly polls: Binay Tamang

Siliguri, 13th December: A public meeting was organized at Sukna Sports Ground today on behalf of Gorkha Janmukti Morcha-2. The meeting was attended by GJM president Binay Tamang, party’s General Secretary and GTA Chairman Anit Thapa, and other top leaders including members of Darjeeling Terai Dooars Plantation Union, members of 45 constituencies, and a large number of supporters.

Addressing the media, Tamang scoffed at the Center, saying that if their demand for constitutional justice is not met before the Assembly polls, they can make any move. He demanded the repeal of the Indo-Bhutan 1949 and the 1950 India-Nepal Treaty and has called for bilateral talks and tripartite talks to resolve the issues. He further said that he would write a letter to the Prime Minister, Home Minister, and State CM Mamata Banerjee concerning providing constitutional justice to the hill residents.
