Jalpaiguri 15th July: In light of the increasing number of COVID-19 cases a lockdown has been imposed in the municipality areas of Jalpaiguri as a containment measure.
It has been learned that the lockdown will come into effect from 5 pm today and will continue till July 19. The administration has already started miking in different areas of the city.
All shops and commercial establishments, excluding emergency services, will remain closed during the lockdown. Public transport services will also remain restricted.
The administration has decided to take necessary legal action against the lockdown breachers.
