CM Mamata Banerjee names Snow Leopards and Red Pandas at Darjeeling Zoo

Darjeeling, 13th November: During her recent visit to Darjeeling, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee gave new names to two snow leopards and four red pandas at the Darjeeling Zoo.

The snow leopards, born at the zoo some time ago, were given the names “Darling” and “Charming.” The Chief Minister, who was taking a morning walk in Darjeeling on Wednesday, stopped at the zoo gate where she met the zoo director. The director requested her to name the animals.

In addition to the snow leopards, she named four red pandas “Hili,” “Paharia,” “Victory,” and “Dream.” This is not the first time CM Banerjee has named animals in the region; she previously named the Royal Bengal Tiger at Bengal Safari Park.
