Siliguri, 19th July: ‘Amader Udyog’, a voluntary organisation from Ward No. 40 of the Siliguri Municipal Corporation organised an awareness meeting and rally to promote a drug-free society and spread awareness about the harmful effects of substance abuse.
The programme was attended by noted social worker Karimul Haque and members of the Muktodhara Foundation, along with residents from different sections of society.
The awareness meeting was held at a local club, where speakers highlighted the adverse effects of drug addiction on individuals, families, and society. They also urged young people to stay away from drugs and make healthy lifestyle choices.
Following the meeting, a rally was taken out through various parts of the Ward to spread the anti-drug message and encourage greater public awareness about the issue.
Organisers said the initiative was aimed at motivating the community to work together towards building a healthy, safe, and drug-free society.
