Siliguri, 14th February: After TMC’s historic win in Siliguri Municipal Corporation today, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee reached Bagdogra Airport this evening. Following this, she reached Noukaghat More and garlanded the statue of Panchanan Burma.
While addressing the gathering, she congratulated all the candidates who won at the Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC) elections and thanked everyone for supporting the Trinamool Congress and helping them win.
It is to recall that TMC leader and Ward No. 33 heavyweight candidate Goutam Deb, earlier in a statement, had said that he wished to win and gift Siliguri to Mamata Banerjee. After TMC’s win with a total of 37 seats, Mamata Banerjee declared Goutam Deb as Siliguri’s Mayor.
