Rajganj, 01st February: State Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee inaugurated the new overbridge on Fulbari-Gajoldoba Canal Road. This has now significantly slashed the time taken to travel from Siliguri to Gajaldoba. In addition to this, there will be no need to stop at the Ambari-Falakata rail gate, which used to cause great inconvenience to the commuters.
The Chief Minister inaugurated the overbridge via remote control from the platform of Uttarbang Utsav at Baghajatin Park in Siliguri, at around 3 pm today. The bridge is reported to be about 736 meters long with the estimated cost of about Rs 45 crore. Beside the Yuva Niwas built inside ‘Bhorer Alo’, the Chief Minister inaugurated several projects before the Assembly elections.
Jalpaiguri District-in-Council President Uttara Barman, Rajganj MLA Khageswar Roy, Rajganj Panchayat Samiti Chairman Purnima Rai and other officials were present during the occasion.
