Chhinnamasta Kali Puja celebrated with pomp in Sahudangi’s Temple

Rajganj, 1st November: Chinnamasta Kali Puja was commemorated with great pomp in Sahudangi area on Monday night. The temple of Chinnamasta Kali Maa, is located on the railway line between Ashrampara and Paghalupara of Sahudangi under Binnaguri Gram Panchayat of Rajganj block.


The Puja was held with splendour and in a grandeur manner in the temple. Reportedly, the said temple has been holding the rituals for the past 42 years. Devotees come from different parts of North Bengal to worship in this temple. On this day more than 100 goats and more than one and a half thousand pigeons are offered in the name of Goddess Kali’s emancipation.

For the last two years, blankets were not distributed due to outbreak of COVID virus, but this time as the pandemic has subsided blankets were distributed to the needy. Apart from this, khichdi prasad was also distributed among the devotees. Rajganj MLA Khageswar Roy, social worker Madan Bhattacharya, Binnaguri Gram Panchayat head Shashi Chandra Barman and others were present as guests in the said puja.
