Cattle trafficking foiled, one arrested in Matigara

Siliguri, 19th July: The cops of Matigara Police Station foiled an attempted bid of cattle trafficking. Following this, an individual identified as MD Karim was arrested. According to police sources, the cattle were being transported in a pick-up van from Bihar to Bangladesh via Siliguri with the intention of trafficking.


As per reports, based on a tip-off, the cops of Matigara police station acted swiftly and seized the pick-up van, bearing Bihar registration number, by undertaking an operation at Patiram Jote area of Matigara. Upon initiating a search, 5 cattle were recovered and rescued. Subsequently, the accused, MD Karim was arrested upon failure to provide valid documents. Today, the accused was produced before the Siliguri Court, while, further investigation is underway.
