Phansidewa, 27th March: Sensation prevailed after a bus overturned losing control during a race to overtake another passenger’s bus. The incident occurred in front of the Madati toll plaza of Ghoshpukur in Phansidewa.
Reportedly, today two buses were coming from Bidhan Nagar to Siliguri. In mid-way, the two buses tried to overtake each other during which, one of the buses overturned. The incident led two of the Higher Secondary examinees to be seriously injured. Along with this, 10 more Higher Secondary candidates and passengers were injured.
On the other hand, as soon as the news of the incident was received, the police of Ghoshpukur police Out Post reached the spot and rescued the injured, and took them to Bidhan Nagar Primary Health Center. Meanwhile, the seriously wounded examinees have been sent to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital. Meanwhile, the bus driver has been absconding since the incident. The police are probing the entire incident.
