Bus carrying 30 stranded people left for Assam from Siliguri

Siliguri, 16th May: A bus carrying 30 stranded people left for Lakshmipur in Assam from Siliguri on Saturday morning. The initiative has been adopted on behalf of the Darjeeling District Congress.


As per the information, several students and laborers of Assam were stranded in Siliguri ever since the nation-wide lockdown was imposed. They were struggling each day to cope up with the fight against the pandemic and were facing a shortage of food.

Keeping in mind their helpless situation, the Darjeeling District Congress workers stepped forward to help them and arranged a bus to help them reach home. Besides, they were also provided with food items during their long journey.


Darjeeling District Congress President Shankar Malakar, Akhil Bharatiya Congress member Mohan Sharma, and Siliguri Vidhan Sabha Yuva President Rohit Tiwari and many other dignitaries were present during the programme.
