Buglary at Kali Mandir in Fulbari

Rajganj, 13th November: The theft at the 60-years-old Kali temple in Fulbari Battala created a stir in the area. The matter only came to light this morning when the priests of the temple found its main gate and fences broken.


As soon as the news was received, the members of the temple committee reached the spot and learned that the thieves had fled away with several items of the temple including two bronze bells weighing 40 kg. The market price of which is said to be about Rs 70,000.

It is to be noted, a few days ago, a similar case of thievery took place at Kamrangaguri Mayer Icha Kali temple of the same area. Apart from this, incidents of theft keep surfacing from time to time. Therefore, the temple committee members demanded to increase police patrolling in the area.


Meanwhile, the police of New Jalpaiguri police station reached the spot and have initiated an investigation with the help of CCTV cameras installed in the temple.
