Siliguri, 09th May: Bringing laurels to the city, Siliguri’s Chandra Mallick won gold at the recently concluded 2nd Bongo Moytri International Yoga Cup organized on May 5th and 6th at the Bangabandhu Stadium in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Chandra, a resident of Deshbandhu Para area, under SMC’s Ward No. 30, received a warm welcome from her family as she returned to Siliguri today.
Reportedly, a total of 450 contestants from India and Bangladesh participated in this yoga competition, which included 150 players from India. The competition that was undertaken in four divisions saw 7 participants from Siliguri. Apart from Chandra Mallick, another participant from Siliguri, Jewel Roy, also won gold. Speaking in this regard, Chandra stated that the competition was tough but support from family and teachers helped her to win. She further advised people to practice yoga for a healthy body and mind.
