Body of missing man recovered from Mahananda River near Fulbari after three days

Fulbari, 05th June: The body of a missing man was recovered from the Mahananda River near Kamrangaguri area adjacent to Fulbari on Friday, three days after he went missing, triggering concern in the locality. The deceased has been identified as Bishwanath Das, a resident of Shantipara who worked as a painter.

According to reports, he had been missing for three days, with family members searching multiple locations without success. On Thursday, his mobile phone, wallet, and bicycle keys were recovered from the riverbank, after which search operations intensified in the area.

On Friday afternoon, locals spotted a body floating in the river and informed police. Personnel from NJP Police Station reached the spot and recovered the body, which was later identified by family members.

The body has been sent for post-mortem examination to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH). Police have initiated an investigation into the incident, with the cause of death yet to be determined and all possibilities being examined.
