Rajganj, 24th March: Sensation prevailed after a woman’s body was recovered from a pond under mysterious circumstances. The incident surfaced from the Nakugachh area under Sanyasikata Gram Panchayat of Rajganj.
The deceased has been identified as Naseema Khatoon (25). Several questions and speculations have been raised on the cause of her death. Reportedly, on Thursday night the family members and Naseema went to sleep after dinner. After this, around two o’clock at night, the family members noticed that Naseema was not in the house. They searched for her at various places, but, later her body was found in the pond near the house.
As per the sources, only the head of the deceased was underwater. After recovering the dead body in such a condition, the relatives are raising doubts over the cause of death. On the other hand, as soon as the news of the incident was received, the Rajganj police reached the spot and took the body into custody and sent it to Jalpaiguri District Hospital for postmortem. The police have started investigating the entire incident.
In this regard, the local panchayat member Shaukat Ali said that the state in which the body of the woman was found raises several speculations and the possibility of death. Thus, the residents and family members demanded the police, investigate the matter seriously.
