Siliguri, 24th June: Tension prevailed in the area after allegations surfaced regarding the illegal stockpiling and sale of sand and stones at inflated prices. On Wednesday, BJP workers intercepted a sand-laden truck and informed the Ashighar Outpost police.
Upon receiving the information, police reached the spot and took custody of the truck along with its driver. A written complaint was subsequently lodged at the police outpost.
