Darjeeling, 11th February: Darjeeling MP Raju Bista, in a press release, shared good wishes to all the candidates contesting the Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC) elections.
He said that Siliguri is one of the most diverse, vibrant, and welcoming cities in our nation. People from different ethnicities, linguistic backgrounds, cultures, and traditions have found their home in Siliguri. Given its geographical positioning, Siliguri carries immense potential for being developed as the engine of growth for the entire Darjeeling hills, Terai, Dooars, and North Bengal region.
He accused TMC, CPIM, and Congress of ignoring the planned development of Siliguri for the past many decades. “Their focus has mostly been on staying in power by hook or crook and raking personal wealth. BJP seeks to change this status quo,” the MP added.
“We have a vision for transforming Siliguri into a Smart Green City. Our multipronged approach towards the development of Siliguri will focus on providing clean, honest, and corruption-free governance. In BJP, we have young and dynamic candidates who are driven by their love for the city. They are energetic, honest, corruption-free, and dedicated towards the cause of seeing a developed Siliguri and North Bengal,” he said.
Bista requested every Siliguri citizen to vote for change so that together they can work for a better future for Siliguri. He wished all the candidates good luck and assured the citizens that BJP will continue to work for the betterment of the city and people.”
